Guitar Body

MatraX guitar bodies are hand assembled using carbon fiber rods and dimensionally precise wood spheres. We use a 5 axis robotic wood cutting center to get the accuracy needed for a successful space frame body.

Traditional guitar bodies are made using standard wood routers and can be made for as little as $25*. (Even with top notch woods, they only cost $40.)

The precision built MatraX body costs over $300* to machine and assemble.

Neck Joint

Another critical cost area of the MatraX guitar is the neck joint.

Vintage bolt-on neck joints and conventional neck-through designs were originally created 50 years ago and now cost pennys to make and set up. The bolt on design though still has a 2+ inch thick block of wood under the higher frets and the neck through design still lacks adjustablility.

The MatraX neck joint is crafted using directionally grained wood, and three dimensionally designed carbon fiber tone rods that: 1) strengthen the joint 2) transfer tone vibrations completely across the neck joint and throughout the body 3) allow for screw adjustment of the neck angle.

Here are a couple of reasons supporting the relatively low price of these guitars.

REASON #1.
We choose to keep this guitar as inexpensive as possible. Even though many of the parts and assemblies are costly to make, it is our fervent desire is to keep the basic price of this guitar as low priced and accessible to individual players. If you want to pay more, we can add as many features or inlays as you wish!
